A Toolkit For Calm

Everyone has those days …

 

It’s ok. It happens to the best of us. You have one of those days where there’s just a lot on your shoulders and things feel overwhelming. Maybe you’ve just been working too much and are feeling a little frenzied. And the worst part is, when you think too hard about it, you start to stress about being stressed.

 

 

Don’t! We’re here for you. AND we’ve got this handy emergency kit to help you calm down in a few easy steps. (If it’s truly an emergency, just skip to the dog GIF, below.)

 

A Toolkit For Calm 🙏

 

1. // Take three deep breaths, stretch, then take another three deep breaths.
2. // Put on one of these 50 ambient albums. Or all of them.
3. // Just look at this independent, self-bundling dog.

 

(Like, look how neatly he rolls himself up in the blanket. Very satisfying.)

 

4. // Mix together background sounds to create the perfect ambiance as you chill for a few or plow through a list of must-do’s.
5. // If you don’t already have one, try a super short meditation practice. If you’re a medi newbie, use an app to help you.
6. // When was the last time you took an honest-to-goodness bath? 🛁  Plan one for when you get home tonight! — and make it a total cliché of relaxation. Pull out all the stops: light candles, toss in some bubbley liquid, play music you love, heck — buy a flower and scatter some rose petals.  🌹 You can laugh at how cheesy it feels, but let yourself enjoy it.
7. // Call the wisest, most level-headed chill person you know. Maybe it’s your bestie. It might be your mom. Or maybe it’s someone you’re not that close to, but you really admire their laid-back attitude. Ask them about their day and ask them how they handle stressful days. Soak up their advice and their level energy. Let calm people make you calm.
